Dynamis’ emergency response experts lauded for active shooter response training
On Friday, June 23, experienced emergency managers from Dynamis, Inc. provided school violence/active shooter training for several private/independent schools in the Rappahannock region at Wakefield Country Day School (WCDS) in Flint Hill. The training was specifically focused on emergency response for schools in the event of violence and/or active shooter threats, with the objective of encouraging increased collaboration and preparedness in the prevention of school violence.
Dynamis senior principals Aaron Marks and Alan Metzler and Corporate Vice President Tim Mahoney performed the training, providing contextual case studies, indicators of violence, and advice on how to plan, prepare, and respond to a school violence incident. The seminar will likely be the first of many in the area. Jessica Andrus Lindstrom, Head of School at WCDS, praised the training, stating:
“Thanks to the generosity of Dynamis, WCDS hosted a Preparedness Seminar for small, independent schools in rural Virginia. The free, full-day workshop planned and presented by principal leaders of Dynamis focused in-depth on emergency response in the event of violence and/or active shooter threats on a school campus. Dynamis speakers delivered first-rate information and encouraged intelligent discussion as attendees took hold of expert guidance and practices needed to shape security plans, preparations, and protocols for today’s world. Two participating Heads of School who had attended other similar workshops commented that the presentation by Dynamis was superior.”
